So today at work I wanted to show someone how my blog was coming along. When I pulled it up, it was messed up seven-ways-from-Sunday! (That means “a lotâ€) Turns out I made a pretty common error. I positioned everything nicely for my home monitor settings and smaller, but if the screen resolution was bigger, it threw everything out of whack. Then I decided to do just a little tweak to see if I could fix it. To get to the point, I’ve spent the last four an a half hours trying to fix that “tweak†and restyle the site so it would work regardless of screen settings. Now it’s almost 1am. Why do mornings have to start so early in the day?

Hot Time, Summer In The City!
Ok, it’s not summer yet and it really hasn’t started getting hot yet, but dang that baby is cute playing in the kiddie pool! I got this picture just before we got out for lunch. She is begging to be allowed to play some more in the pool. She uses both hands to swipe across her chest in her interpretation of ASL for “Pleaseâ€. It loses it’s effect when you know that both hands means “enjoyâ€.
Spent most of the day deciphering phpbb so that I could have the forum up and running, which *IT IS*, and figuring out how to get the most recent blog entry to post on the front page.
The Gallery
First, let me tell you it has been a long time since the wild blackberries were this plump! I had to stop by my folk’s house this evening and pick some. I stopped by the store on my way home and grabbed some cream too. Perfect way to top off a nice warm June evening.
I think I have the site laid out like I want it now. I’ve spent over three hours working out glitches and getting the gallery up. Over the next few days I will move the photos from flickr to my gallery, and begin inserting captions.
I’m also getting some great ideas for the podcast, so that should be coming soon as well!
Site Design
As you can see, I’ve been spending some time trying to whip my site into shape. After three hours of experimenting with wordpress code, this is as far as I’ve gotten. If any of you have any expertise in this area, I would certainly appreciate all the help I can get.
Superstar!
One of my favorite things to do is play guitar with my kids. Even if my guitar is totally out of tune and I sing through my nose, to them I’m a rock star.
When you are playing with your kids, you don’t have to be perfect to be amazing.
